The Academic Vocational Development Group (the AVD Group), a faith-based Christ centered, educational organization that provides educational programs to develop students and their families in academic achievement and discovery of their vocational skills and opportunities in the North Nashville area.
The North Nashville community which comprises Bordeaux (37218), North Nashville starting from The Jefferson Street area (37208-Germantown, Fisk-Meharry & Salemtown), Dickerson Pike (37207), and a portion of the 37209, since post the Civil War has been the birth place of spiritual fervor, social change, academic excellence, creativity, and economic opportunities for African Americans and people of color locally, nationally, and internationally. These three zip code areas have been primarily African American in population for decades: 37207, 37208, and 37218. The zip code 37218 has a total population of 14,855 with an African American population of 11,071. The zip code of 37207 has a total population of 34,880 with an African American population of 24,898. The zip code of 37208 has a population of roughly 21000 people: with an African American population of 51% and White population of 49%.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide relevant and applicable faith based individualized education for elementary and secondary students and adults through customized homeschooling, vocational focused college ready High school diploma education, HiSet/GED preparation, and career services removing educational gaps and barriers to create higher academic performance, job readiness, and career options.
Our heart and goal is ignite hope within communities and empower people to succeed, regardless of ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and background.
